Kingdom Coming Part 2 Devotionals

Day 1: God’s Power to Revive

Devotional Ezekiel 37 presents a powerful vision of hope and restoration. During a time of spiritual decline in Israel, the prophet Ezekiel is shown a valley filled with dry bones, symbolizing the hopelessness of the Israelites. God asks Ezekiel if the bones can live, and as Ezekiel prophesies, the bones come together and are brought to life by God’s breath, symbolizing the Holy Spirit. This vision demonstrates God’s power to revive and restore even the most hopeless situations. It serves as a reminder to place our hope in God and trust in His promises, rather than in temporary things. The vision encourages us to seek the Holy Spirit’s renewal in our lives and to trust in God’s ultimate plan for restoration through Jesus Christ.

Bible Verse ‘The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.’ – Ezekiel 37:1

Reflection Question In what areas of your life do you feel like you are in a valley of dry bones, and how can you invite God’s power to revive those areas?

Quote God’s power to revive and restore even the most hopeless situations.

Prayer Lord, I acknowledge the dry bones in my life and ask for Your breath to bring them back to life. Help me to trust in Your power to revive and restore even the most hopeless situations. Amen.

Day 2: The Breath of Life

Devotional In Ezekiel’s vision, the bones come together, but they are not truly alive until God’s breath enters them. This breath symbolizes the Holy Spirit, who brings true life and renewal. Just as the bones needed God’s breath to live, we need the Holy Spirit to bring life into our spiritual dryness. Without the Holy Spirit, we may appear whole on the outside, but we lack the true life that only God can give. Seek the Holy Spirit’s presence in your life and allow Him to breathe new life into you.

Bible Verse ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.’ – Ezekiel 37:5

Reflection Question How can you invite the Holy Spirit to breathe new life into areas of spiritual dryness in your life?

Quote God’s breath, it’s the Spirit. And that’s where everything begins to happen. That’s where life really is.

Prayer Holy Spirit, I invite You to breathe new life into me. Fill me with Your presence and renew my spirit. Help me to experience the true life that only You can give. Amen.

Day 3: Hope in God’s Promises

Devotional Ezekiel’s vision reminds us to place our hope in God’s promises rather than in temporary things. The Israelites felt hopeless, but God promised to open their graves and bring them back to life. Similarly, we may face situations that seem hopeless, but God’s promises remain true. When we place our hope in temporary things, we are bound to be disappointed. However, when we place our hope in God, we can trust that He will fulfill His promises and bring restoration.

Bible Verse ‘Therefore prophesy and say to them: This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.’ – Ezekiel 37:12

Reflection Question What temporary things have you been placing your hope in, and how can you shift your focus to God’s promises?

Quote Put your hope in temporary things, it’s going to fail you.

Prayer Lord, help me to place my hope in Your promises rather than in temporary things. Remind me of Your faithfulness and the assurance that You will bring restoration. Amen.

Day 4: The Presence of God

Devotional Ezekiel’s vision also highlights the importance of God’s presence. The presence of God had left the temple, symbolizing a broken connection between heaven and earth. However, God’s promise to bring the Israelites back to life and return them to their land signifies the restoration of that connection. In our lives, we must seek to restore and maintain our connection with God. His presence brings life, peace, and guidance. Make it a priority to seek God’s presence daily and experience the fullness of life that comes from being in relationship with Him.

Bible Verse ‘I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.’ – Ezekiel 37:14

Reflection Question How can you prioritize seeking God’s presence in your daily life?

Quote The presence of God actually leaves the temple. There’s no more heaven and earth connection.

Prayer Lord, I desire to be in Your presence daily. Help me to prioritize my relationship with You and to seek Your presence in all that I do. Fill me with Your Spirit and guide me in Your ways. Amen.

Day 5: Jesus, Our Hope and Answer

Devotional Ultimately, Ezekiel’s vision points us to Jesus Christ, who is our hope and answer. Jesus brings life into the worst of situations and offers us a restored relationship with God. Through His sacrifice, we are made clean and can experience the fullness of life that God intended for us. Everything starts by knowing Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Place your hope in Him and trust that He will bring revival and breakthrough in your life. Remember that whatever you are going through is temporary, and something better is on the horizon.

Bible Verse ‘But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.’ – Romans 8:10

Reflection Question How can you deepen your relationship with Jesus and place your hope in Him as your Lord and Savior?

Quote Jesus is your hope and your answer, and he can bring life into the worst of situations.

Prayer Jesus, I place my hope in You. Thank You for being my answer and bringing life into the worst of situations. Help me to deepen my relationship with You and to trust in Your promises. Amen.

Kingdom Coming Part 1 Devotionals

Day 1: Understanding Exile

Devotional The concept of exile is a powerful reminder of the consequences of turning away from God. In Ezekiel, we see God’s glory departing from the temple due to the Israelites’ corruption and disobedience. This period of Babylonian exile serves as a stark lesson for us today. When we stray from God’s path, we experience a form of spiritual exile, feeling distant and disconnected from Him. However, this isn’t the end of the story. The prophets spoke of a future hope and redemption, pointing to Jesus Christ as the ultimate redeemer. Through His sacrifice, we are offered forgiveness and a renewed relationship with God.

Bible Verse Then the glory of the Lord departed from over the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim. – Ezekiel 10:18

Reflection Question In what areas of your life do you feel spiritually exiled, and how can you seek God’s presence to restore that connection?

Quote Understanding exile will help you answer a lot of the why questions you have.

Prayer Lord, help me to recognize the areas in my life where I have strayed from You. Guide me back to Your presence and restore our relationship. Amen.

Day 2: The Promise of Redemption

Devotional Despite the exile, the prophets spoke of a future hope and redemption. This promise is fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who offers us forgiveness and a renewed relationship with God. Jeremiah’s prophecy of a new covenant, where God’s law is written on our hearts, is partially fulfilled in Jesus and will be fully realized upon His return. This new covenant signifies a deep, personal relationship with God, one that is not based on external rituals but on an internal transformation.

Bible Verse The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. – Jeremiah 31:31

Reflection Question How does the promise of a new covenant change your understanding of your relationship with God?

Quote Jeremiah’s prophecy of a new covenant, where God’s law is written on our hearts, is partially fulfilled in Jesus and will be fully realized upon His return.

Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of a new covenant through Jesus Christ. Help me to internalize Your laws and live a life that reflects Your love and grace. Amen.

Day 3: Living as Signposts

Devotional As believers, we are called to live as signposts, reflecting the hope and redemption we have in Jesus and guiding others towards Him. Our lives should be a testament to the transformative power of God’s love and grace. By living out our faith authentically, we can help others find their way back to God. This means being intentional in our actions, words, and relationships, always pointing others to the hope we have in Christ.

Bible Verse Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. – 2 Corinthians 4:16

Reflection Question In what ways can you be a signpost for others, guiding them towards the hope and redemption found in Jesus?

Quote As believers, we are called to live as signposts, reflecting the hope and redemption we have in Jesus and guiding others towards Him.

Prayer Lord, help me to live as a signpost, reflecting Your love and guiding others towards You. May my life be a testament to Your transformative power. Amen.

Day 4: Deepening Our Relationship with God

Devotional By deepening our relationship with God through worship, prayer, and reading His word, we can experience glimpses of the eternal life that awaits us. This connection with God is not just about following rules but about cultivating a deep, personal relationship with Him. When we invest time in our relationship with God, we begin to see His hand in our lives more clearly and experience His peace and joy.

Bible Verse Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. – Psalm 90:1-2

Reflection Question What steps can you take today to deepen your relationship with God and experience His presence more fully?

Quote By deepening our relationship with God through worship, prayer, and reading His word, we can experience glimpses of the eternal life that awaits us.

Prayer Heavenly Father, help me to deepen my relationship with You through worship, prayer, and reading Your word. May I experience Your presence and the eternal life that awaits. Amen.

Day 5: The Ultimate Redeemer

Devotional Jesus Christ is the ultimate redeemer who offers us forgiveness and a renewed relationship with God. Through His sacrifice, we are redeemed from the power of sin and death. This redemption is not just a one-time event but a continuous process of transformation and renewal. As we grow in our faith, we become more like Christ, reflecting His love and grace to the world around us.

Bible Verse In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace. – Ephesians 1:7

Reflection Question How does understanding Jesus as your ultimate redeemer change the way you live your daily life?

Quote In him, Jesus, we have redemption. Paul said, through his blood, the forgiveness of sins in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.

Prayer Lord Jesus, thank You for being my ultimate redeemer. Help me to live a life that reflects Your love and grace, continually growing in my faith and relationship with You. Amen.

Kingdom Foreshadowed Part 17 Devotionals

Day 1: The Desire to Build

Devotional David, after establishing peace in his kingdom, had a noble desire to build a house for God. He felt it was unfair that he lived in a palace while the Ark of God was in a tent. This desire reflects a heart that seeks to honor God. However, God had different plans. He promised to establish an everlasting kingdom through David’s lineage, showing that God’s plans are often greater than our own. This teaches us to trust in God’s timing and His grand design for our lives.

Bible Verse ‘Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.’ – 2 Samuel 7:16

Reflection Question Have you ever had a desire to do something for God, only to find out He had a different plan? How did you respond?

Quote David has a nice palace and he’s hanging around, and he sort of has the thought that I’ve got this nice palace and God’s hanging out in a tent, maybe I should do something about that.

Prayer Lord, help me to trust in Your plans for my life. Even when my desires are noble, teach me to seek Your will above my own. Amen.

Day 2: God’s Promise

Devotional God’s response to David’s desire to build a house for Him was profound. Instead of David building a house for God, God promised to build a house for David. This house was not a physical structure but an everlasting kingdom through David’s lineage. This promise was fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who established an eternal kingdom. It reminds us that God’s promises are sure and His plans are always for our good.

Bible Verse ‘Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in front of the whole assembly of Israel. And he spread out his hands toward heaven and he said, Lord, the God of Israel, there’s no God like you in heaven above or on earth below.’ – 1 Kings 8:22-23

Reflection Question How do you react when God’s plans for you are different from your own? Do you trust in His promises?

Quote God says he’ll build the house, which I get a kick out of because God, you know, David wants to build a house for God. And God says, thanks, David, but I’ll build a house.

Prayer Father, thank You for Your promises that never fail. Help me to trust in Your plans and to find peace in Your promises. Amen.

Day 3: The True Temple

Devotional Solomon built the Temple that David had envisioned, and God’s presence filled it, reestablishing the divine connection between heaven and earth. However, this physical Temple was a foreshadowing of the true Temple, Jesus Christ. Jesus declared that He is the Temple, the perfect connection between heaven and earth. Through His death and resurrection, He made it possible for us to become the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.

Bible Verse ‘Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days. But the temple he had spoken of was his body.’ – John 2:19-21

Reflection Question How does knowing that Jesus is the true Temple change your understanding of God’s presence in your life?

Quote Jesus is going to introduce himself as the temple in John two. In John chapter one, we talked about this, that he says it’s a tabernacle moment, right? Because he’s going to pitch his tent among us, he tabernacles among us, the place where heaven and earth meet, the presence of God is.

Prayer Jesus, thank You for being the perfect connection between heaven and earth. Help me to understand and appreciate Your presence in my life. Amen.

Day 4: The Indwelling Spirit

Devotional With Jesus’ resurrection, believers become the new Temple, the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. This profound truth calls us to live holy lives, acknowledging God’s presence within us. The Holy Spirit empowers us to be a light to the world, drawing others to Jesus. It is a magnificent and wonderful reality that the Spirit of God lives in us, making us a place where heaven and earth meet.

Bible Verse ‘Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit who’s in you, whom you’ve received from God? You’re not your own.’ – 1 Corinthians 6:19

Reflection Question How does the knowledge that the Holy Spirit lives in you influence your daily life and decisions?

Quote You’re now the moving temple of the Lord, the portable presence of the Lord, because Holy Spirit lives in you.

Prayer Holy Spirit, thank You for dwelling within me. Help me to live a life that honors Your presence and draws others to Jesus. Amen.

Day 5: Living as the Temple

Devotional As the Temple of the Holy Spirit, we are called to live in a way that reflects God’s glory. This means being a light in the world, showing love, grace, and truth to those around us. Our lives should draw others to Jesus, the true Temple. Everything that matters starts by knowing Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our lives. When we say yes to Jesus, the Holy Spirit fills us, and we become a place where heaven and earth meet.

Bible Verse ‘For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.’ – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Reflection Question In what ways can you live as the Temple of the Holy Spirit and make a difference in the world around you?

Quote Live like that so that you can make a difference in the world around us.

Prayer Lord, help me to live as Your Temple, reflecting Your glory and drawing others to You. Fill me with Your Spirit and guide me in all I do. Amen.
