Kingdom Foreshadowed Part 12 Devotionals
Day 1: Understanding God’s Heart
Devotional Leviticus is a fascinating book, so let’s put it in context before we hop in there. God’s heart was a heaven and earth connection. Eden was a cosmic temple where God and humanity dwelled together in perfect harmony. This connection was broken by sin, but God’s desire to be near His people never changed. Leviticus outlines the steps the Israelites needed to take to live near the presence of God. Today, we can reflect on God’s unwavering desire to be close to us and how He has made a way for that through Jesus.
Bible Verse Leviticus 16:2 – ‘The Lord said to Moses: Tell your brother Aaron that he is not to come whenever he chooses into the Most Holy Place behind the curtain in front of the atonement cover on the ark, or else he will die. For I will appear in the cloud over the atonement cover.’
Reflection Question How does knowing that God desires to be close to you change the way you approach Him in your daily life?
Prayer Lord, thank You for Your desire to be close to us. Help us to understand Your heart and to seek Your presence daily. Amen.
Day 2: Jesus, Our Ultimate High Priest
Devotional Leviticus is all about what the people need to do in order to live near the presence of God. However, Jesus is the ultimate high priest who gives us access to God. Unlike the high priests of the Old Testament who had to offer sacrifices repeatedly, Jesus’ sacrifice was once and for all. He fulfills all the Levitical requirements, making it possible for us to approach God with confidence and humility.
Bible Verse Hebrews 10:12 – ‘But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.’
Reflection Question In what ways can you approach God with more confidence, knowing that Jesus has already made the ultimate sacrifice for you?
Prayer Jesus, thank You for being our ultimate high priest and for giving us access to God. Help us to approach You with humility and confidence. Amen.
Day 3: The Ultimate Sacrifice
Devotional Jesus is then the ultimate sacrifice, and He also fulfills the holy days. His sacrifice purifies us and makes us clean, allowing us to live in the presence of God. By understanding these connections, believers are invited to meditate on Jesus’ sacrifice, approach God with humility, and live a life of purity. Jesus’ role as the ultimate high priest and the perfect sacrifice negates the need for repeated offerings, providing eternal access to God.
Bible Verse Hebrews 10:14 – ‘For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.’
Reflection Question How can you incorporate the meditation on Jesus’ sacrifice into your daily routine?
Prayer Lord, thank You for Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice that purifies us and makes us clean. Help us to live a life of purity and to meditate on His sacrifice daily. Amen.
Day 4: Living a Life of Purity
Devotional Jesus purifies you. He makes you clean. This purification allows us to live a life of purity, free from the bondage of sin. Jesus’ sacrifice takes away our sin, and His blood atones for us, giving us access once again to the most holy place. As we live our lives, we are called to reflect this purity in our actions, thoughts, and relationships.
Bible Verse Leviticus 16:30 – ‘Because on this day atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you. Then, before the Lord, you will be clean from all your sins.’
Reflection Question What steps can you take today to live a life of purity in your actions, thoughts, and relationships?
Prayer Jesus, thank You for purifying us and making us clean. Help us to live a life of purity and to reflect Your love in all that we do. Amen.
Day 5: Eternal Access to God
Devotional Jesus has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. His role as the ultimate high priest and the perfect sacrifice negates the need for repeated offerings, providing eternal access to God. Jesus’ sacrifice takes away our sin, and His blood atones for us, giving us access once again to the most holy place. We can now approach God with confidence, knowing that Jesus has made a way back for us.
Bible Verse Hebrews 10:10 – ‘And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.’
Reflection Question How does knowing that you have eternal access to God through Jesus’ sacrifice impact your relationship with Him?
Prayer Lord, thank You for the eternal access to You through Jesus’ sacrifice. Help us to approach You with confidence and to live in the freedom that comes from being made holy. Amen.

Kingdom Foreshadowed Part 11 Devotionals
Day 1: The Journey from Slavery to Worship
Devotional The book of Exodus begins with the Israelites in slavery and ends with them worshiping God. This transformation is a powerful reminder of how God can change our circumstances and lead us to a place of worship. Just as the Israelites were freed from physical bondage, we too can be freed from the spiritual bondage of sin through Jesus Christ. Reflect on the journey God has taken you on and how He has transformed your life.
Bible Verse Exodus 25:8 – ‘Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.’
Reflection Question How has God transformed your life from a place of bondage to a place of worship?
Prayer Lord, thank You for leading me from a place of bondage to a place of worship. Help me to always remember Your faithfulness and to worship You with all my heart. Amen.
Day 2: The Presence of God
Devotional The presence of God is the glory of God. It is so powerful, pure, and holy. In the Old Testament, God’s presence dwelled in the tabernacle, a tent that moved with the Israelites. Today, because of Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. We must never take this incredible gift for granted. Reflect on the significance of having God’s presence in your life and how it guides you daily.
Bible Verse Psalm 16:11 – ‘You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.’
Reflection Question In what ways do you experience the presence of God in your daily life?
Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for Your presence in my life. Help me to never take it for granted and to always seek Your guidance. Fill me with joy and peace as I walk with You. Amen.
Day 3: Jesus, the True Tabernacle
Devotional Everything in the tabernacle points to Jesus. He is the true tabernacle, fulfilling every aspect of the Old Testament tabernacle. Jesus is the sacrifice, the priest, the bread of life, and the light of the world. Through His death and resurrection, He has made a way for us to have access to the presence of God. Reflect on how Jesus fulfills these roles in your life and the significance of His sacrifice.
Bible Verse John 1:14 – ‘The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.’
Reflection Question How does understanding Jesus as the true tabernacle deepen your relationship with Him?
Prayer Jesus, thank You for being the true tabernacle and for fulfilling every role needed for my salvation. Help me to understand the depth of Your sacrifice and to live in a way that honors You. Amen.
Day 4: Restored Access to God
Devotional Because of what Jesus has done, we all have restored access to God. We no longer have to go through rituals or sacrifices to be accepted by Him. Jesus has done it all, and we are already accepted. This restored access allows us to enjoy the presence of God and to live in His love. Reflect on the freedom and joy that comes from knowing you have direct access to God through Jesus.
Bible Verse Hebrews 10:19-23 – ‘Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings.’
Reflection Question What does it mean to you to have direct access to God through Jesus?
Prayer Lord, thank You for the restored access to You through Jesus. Help me to live in the freedom and joy that comes from knowing I am accepted and loved by You. Amen.
Day 5: Living in the Presence of God
Devotional We are called to enjoy the presence of God and never lose sight of how amazing it is that we have access to Him because of Jesus. This access should transform our lives and flow through us into the lives of others. As we live in the presence of God, we are called to share His love and grace with those around us. Reflect on how you can live in the presence of God daily and be a light to others.
Bible Verse Matthew 27:51 – ‘At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split.’
Reflection Question How can you live in the presence of God daily and share His love with those around you?
Prayer Father, help me to live in Your presence daily and to never lose sight of the incredible gift of access to You through Jesus. Let Your love flow through me into the lives of others. Amen.

Kingdom Foreshadowed Part 10 Devotionals
Day 1: Access to the Throne Room
Devotional Despite our brokenness, God has given us access to His throne room. This is a profound privilege that we often take for granted. In the Old Testament, only the high priest could enter the Holy of Holies, and that too, only once a year. But through Jesus, we have direct access to God at any time. This access is not just a physical one but a spiritual connection that allows us to commune with our Creator. Reflect on the significance of this access and how it impacts your daily life.
Bible Verse John 1:14 – The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Reflection Question How does knowing you have direct access to God through Jesus change the way you approach your daily challenges?
Prayer Lord, thank You for granting me access to Your throne room. Help me to never take this privilege for granted and to seek Your presence daily. Amen.
Day 2: Created to Be Priests
Devotional God created humanity to be priests in His garden temple. This means we are called to be mediators between God and the world, reflecting His glory and love. Adam and Eve had the choice to follow God’s will or their own, and we face similar choices every day. Our role as priests is to choose God’s way and to help others see His love through our actions.
Bible Verse Genesis 1:27 – So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Reflection Question In what ways can you act as a mediator of God’s love and glory in your daily interactions?
Prayer Father, help me to live out my calling as a priest in Your creation. May my actions reflect Your love and draw others closer to You. Amen.
Day 3: The Cosmic Temple
Devotional The world is not just a physical space but a cosmic temple where heaven and earth meet. This perspective changes how we view our surroundings and our role in them. We are part of God’s grand design, and our mission is to bring His rescuing glory into every corner of creation. This means being mindful of how we treat the environment, our communities, and each other.
Bible Verse Genesis 1:1 – In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Reflection Question How does viewing the world as God’s cosmic temple influence your actions and decisions?
Prayer Creator God, open my eyes to see the world as Your cosmic temple. Help me to honor and care for Your creation in all that I do. Amen.
Day 4: Jesus, Our Tabernacle
Devotional Jesus came to dwell among us, to be our tabernacle. He is the living Word who was with God in the beginning and came to be in our midst. This means we can encounter the presence of God through Jesus. He is our mediator, our connection to the divine. Reflect on the significance of Jesus tabernacling among us and how it impacts your relationship with God.
Bible Verse John 1:14 – The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Reflection Question What does it mean to you that Jesus came to dwell among us, and how does it affect your daily walk with Him?
Prayer Jesus, thank You for coming to dwell among us. Help me to seek Your presence and to grow in my relationship with You. Amen.
Day 5: Our Mission
Devotional Our mission is to partner with God to bring His rescuing glory into every corner of creation. This is not just a task but a calling that gives our lives purpose and direction. We are part of God’s ultimate rescue plan, and our actions can make a difference in the world. Reflect on how you can actively participate in this mission and bring God’s love and glory to those around you.
Bible Verse Exodus 40:34-35 – Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
Reflection Question How can you actively participate in God’s mission to bring His rescuing glory into every corner of creation?
Prayer Lord, thank You for giving me a mission and a purpose. Help me to partner with You in bringing Your glory to the world. Amen.
