Kingdom Coming Part 8 Devotionals
Day 1: The Foundation of Peace
Devotional In Isaiah 9, Jesus is prophesied as the Prince of Peace. This title is not just a comforting name; it signifies the profound peace He brings into our lives. The most fundamental need of every human being is being at peace with God. This peace is foundational and is achieved through faith and justification in Jesus Christ. When we are at peace with God, it sets the stage for every other form of peace in our lives. It is the bedrock upon which we can build peace within ourselves and with others.
Bible Verse Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. – Romans 5:1
Reflection Question How can you actively seek to strengthen your peace with God today?
Quote Peace with God is the foundation on which every other pursuit of peace is built.
Prayer Lord, thank You for the peace that comes from being justified through faith in Jesus Christ. Help me to anchor my heart in this foundational peace and to seek You daily. Amen.
Day 2: Inner Peace
Devotional Once we have peace with God, it extends to our inner being. This divine peace guards us against anxiety and fear, enabling us to live abundantly. Jesus promises us His peace, a peace that the world cannot give. This peace is a gift that calms our hearts and minds, even in the midst of life’s storms. By staying connected to Him, we can experience this true peace that surpasses all understanding.
Bible Verse Peace, I leave with you. My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled. Don’t be afraid. – John 14:27
Reflection Question What steps can you take to stay connected to Jesus and experience His peace in your daily life?
Quote True peace comes from staying connected to Him.
Prayer Lord, thank You for the gift of Your peace. Help me to stay connected to You and to trust in Your promises, so that my heart may not be troubled or afraid. Amen.
Day 3: Peace with Others
Devotional Having peace with God and inner peace naturally leads us to pursue peace with others. We are called to extend grace and forgiveness, just as God has done for us. This Christmas season, let us be vessels of His love and grace in our relationships. By being kind and compassionate, we reflect the peace of Christ to those around us. This not only strengthens our relationships but also brings glory to God.
Bible Verse Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you. – Ephesians 4:32
Reflection Question Is there someone in your life with whom you need to make peace? How can you extend grace and forgiveness to them?
Quote Be Kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.
Prayer Lord, help me to be kind and compassionate, forgiving others as You have forgiven me. Let Your peace flow through me to those around me. Amen.
Day 4: Anchoring in His Promises
Devotional In times of uncertainty and turmoil, anchoring our hearts in God’s promises brings us peace. Trusting in the Lord, who is our eternal rock, gives us stability and assurance. His peace guards our hearts and minds, allowing us to remain calm and hopeful. Reflecting on all the things God has done for us can change our hearts and fill us with gratitude and peace.
Bible Verse Trust in the Lord forever. For the Lord, the Lord Himself, is the rock eternal. – Isaiah 26:4
Reflection Question What promises of God can you hold onto today to anchor your heart in His peace?
Quote Something changes in your heart when you focus on all the things that God has done for you.
Prayer Lord, thank You for being my eternal rock. Help me to trust in Your promises and to anchor my heart in Your peace. Amen.
Day 5: Becoming Vessels of Peace
Devotional As we embrace the peace of Christ, we are called to become vessels of His love and grace in our relationships. This means actively seeking renewal, revival, and breakthrough of His kingdom in our communities. By living out His peace, we can bring hope and healing to those around us. Let us worship and thank God for everything He is doing in our lives and commit to being instruments of His peace.
Bible Verse Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. – Philippians 4:7
Reflection Question How can you be a vessel of Christ’s peace in your community this week?
Quote Lord, we are just so thankful for everything that you’re doing here. You’re awesome.
