Kingdom Incarnate Part 15 Devotionals

Day 1: The King’s Humble Entry

Devotional When we think of kings and rulers, we often picture them surrounded by luxury and power. Yet Jesus, the King of kings, chose a dramatically different entrance. Instead of arriving on a magnificent war horse with an army behind Him, He came riding on a borrowed colt. This wasn’t a mistake or poor planning – it was an intentional demonstration of His character and mission. His humility wasn’t weakness; it was a display of a different kind of strength, one that would ultimately change the world through love and sacrifice rather than force and intimidation. This humble entry invites us to reconsider our own understanding of true power and leadership.

Bible Verse

“Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.'” – Luke 19:30-31

Reflection Question

In what areas of your life might God be calling you to embrace humility rather than seeking power or control?

Quote Jesus rides in not as a conquering general on a war horse, but as the Prince of peace entering his city in humble majesty, perhaps mirroring his entrance onto earth in a humble manger.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for modeling true humility. Help me to follow Your example by serving others with a humble heart. Give me the courage to let go of my need for control and trust in Your leadership. Amen.

Day 2: A Response of Praise

Devotional When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the response was electric. People couldn’t contain their joy – they threw down their cloaks, waved palm branches, and shouted praises. Their worship wasn’t carefully choreographed or formally planned; it was a spontaneous overflow of recognition and gratitude. Even when religious leaders tried to silence the celebration, Jesus declared that if the people kept quiet, even the stones would cry out in praise. This reminds us that worship isn’t just a Sunday activity – it’s the natural response of all creation to its Creator. When we truly recognize who Jesus is, praise becomes our instinctive reaction.

Bible Verse

When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen. – Luke 19:37-40

Reflection Question

What prevents you from expressing genuine, spontaneous praise to God in your daily life?

Quote When Jesus enters the scene, when he’s in our lives, when he’s with us, the best thing we can do, the only thing we should do, is to praise him and to lift him up.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, fill my heart with such joy and gratitude that praise becomes my natural response. Help me to worship You freely and authentically in all circumstances. Amen.

Day 3: The Present King

Devotional God isn’t distant or detached from our daily lives. He desires to be present in our ordinary moments – during family dinners, work meetings, and quiet evenings at home. The same Jesus who entered Jerusalem wants to enter every aspect of our lives. He’s not just interested in our Sunday best or our polished prayers; He wants to be part of our daily journey, transforming us from the inside out. His presence isn’t limited to special occasions or sacred spaces – He’s ready to walk with us through every moment of every day.

Bible Verse

Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. – Psalm 24:7-10

Reflection Question

What areas of your daily life have you hesitated to invite Jesus into, and why?

Quote The Lord wants to be with you in your day to day life. You know, the Lord loves it when he gets to hang out with us, when we’re with our families, when we’re hanging out, when we’re at work. He wants to be with you all the time.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for wanting to be present in every part of my life. Help me to recognize and welcome Your presence in both the ordinary and extraordinary moments. Amen.

Day 4: The King’s True Glory

Devotional The paradox of Palm Sunday is that Jesus’s greatest moment of earthly acclaim preceded His greatest suffering. The crowds who shouted “Hosanna!” would soon cry “Crucify Him!” Yet this wasn’t a tragic turn of events – it was part of God’s perfect plan. Jesus’s true glory wasn’t found in the temporary praise of the crowd, but in His sacrificial love demonstrated on the cross. This reminds us that God’s definition of glory often looks very different from ours. True greatness in God’s kingdom is measured not by worldly success or recognition, but by sacrificial love and obedience.

Bible Verse

As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it. – Luke 19:41-44

Reflection Question

How has your understanding of success and glory been challenged by Jesus’s example?

Quote Jesus ultimate act of glory in heaven was the ultimate act of suffering here on earth.

Prayer

Jesus, help me to embrace Your definition of glory rather than the world’s. Give me the courage to follow You even when it means choosing sacrifice over comfort. Amen.

Day 5: The Transforming King

Devotional Palm Sunday wasn’t just a historical event – it’s a picture of what Jesus wants to do in each of our lives. Just as He entered Jerusalem that day, He desires to enter our hearts, not for a momentary celebration but for lasting transformation. His goal isn’t just to receive our praise but to reshape our lives from the inside out. When we truly welcome Him as King, everything changes. Our priorities shift, our perspectives transform, and our lives begin to reflect His character. This is the ultimate purpose of His humble entry – not just to receive temporary acclaim, but to bring permanent change.

Bible Verse

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. – Zechariah 9:9

Reflection Question

What changes have you noticed in your life since welcoming Jesus as your King, and what areas still need His transforming touch?

Quote In the same way that Jesus doesn’t just want to enter Jerusalem, he wants to enter your heart. And not just for a day of celebration, but he wants to enter in for a lifetime of transformation.

Prayer

King Jesus, thank You for Your desire to transform my life. Continue Your work in me, making me more like You each day. Help me to surrender fully to Your loving leadership. Amen.
