Kingdom Coming Part 11 Devotionals

Day 1: Spiritual Renewal in the Desert

Devotional Isaiah 35 paints a beautiful picture of a desert blossoming and rejoicing, symbolizing the spiritual renewal that comes through a relationship with God. Just as a barren land can be transformed into a lush garden, our lives can be renewed and revitalized through Jesus. His life, death, and resurrection open the way for us to be reconciled with God, bringing new life to our weary souls. This transformation is not just a future promise but a present reality we can experience today. As we seek God’s presence, we find that He is actively involved in our lives, bringing renewal and hope.

Bible Verse Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’ – John 14:6

Reflection Question In what areas of your life do you feel like a desert, and how can you invite Jesus to bring renewal and transformation to those areas?

Quote The desert and the parched land will be glad, and the wilderness will rejoice and blossom like the crocus. It will burst into bloom. It will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.

Prayer Lord, I invite You into the dry and barren places of my life. Bring Your living water to refresh and renew my spirit. Help me to experience the fullness of life that comes through a relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 2: Strengthening the Weak

Devotional Isaiah 35 encourages us to strengthen the weak and reassure those with fearful hearts. In our journey of faith, we often encounter moments of weakness and fear. Yet, God calls us to be a source of strength and encouragement for one another. By leaning on God’s promises and His presence, we can find the courage to face our challenges. Remember, God is not distant; He is actively involved in our lives, bringing salvation and hope. As we support each other, we reflect God’s love and care, helping to build a community of faith that stands strong together.

Bible Verse And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. – Isaiah 35:8

Reflection Question Who in your life needs encouragement and strength today, and how can you be a source of support for them?

Quote Strengthen the feeble hand, steady the knees. Again give way. Say to those with fearful hearts, be strong. Do not fear. Your God will come. And he’ll come with vengeance, with divine retribution. He will come to save you.

Prayer Heavenly Father, help me to be a source of strength and encouragement to those around me. Give me the wisdom and compassion to support others in their times of need. May Your love flow through me to bring hope and reassurance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 3: Experiencing God’s Kingdom Now

Devotional Jesus’ miracles, such as healing the blind and the lame, fulfill Isaiah’s prophecy and demonstrate that the Kingdom of God has come. We live in the ‘now and not yet’ of God’s Kingdom, experiencing glimpses of His power and presence while awaiting its full realization. This tension calls us to live with hope and expectation, knowing that God’s promises are being fulfilled even now. As we walk the Way of Holiness, we are invited to participate in God’s work, bringing His love and healing to a broken world. Let us embrace this calling with faith and joy, trusting in God’s ongoing work in our lives.

Bible Verse I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. – Revelation 21:22

Reflection Question How can you actively participate in bringing God’s Kingdom to your community today?

Quote Jesus is. He’s not just showing compassion here, which he’s doing. He’s demonstrating that the kingdom has indeed come in some measure. And it changes everything. The kingdom is here in part. Not fully here, but here in part. And that makes a huge difference.

Prayer Lord, thank You for the glimpses of Your Kingdom that we experience in our lives. Help me to live with hope and expectation, participating in Your work of love and healing. Use me to bring Your Kingdom to my community. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 4: Walking the Way of Holiness

Devotional Isaiah 35:8 speaks of a highway called the Way of Holiness, reserved for those who walk in God’s ways. This path is not for the unclean or wicked but for the redeemed who have been rescued by the Lord. Walking this path requires us to continually seek God’s presence and align our lives with His will. It is a journey of transformation, where we are shaped and molded by God’s grace. As we walk this path, we experience the joy and gladness that come from living in harmony with God. Let us commit to walking the Way of Holiness, trusting in God’s guidance and strength.

Bible Verse Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’ – John 14:6

Reflection Question What steps can you take today to align your life more closely with God’s will and walk the Way of Holiness?

Quote And a highway will be there. It will be called the way of holiness. It will be for those who walk on that way. The unclean will not journey on it. Wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast. They will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there. And those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing. Everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them. And sorrow, sorrow and sighing will flee away.

Prayer Father, guide me on the Way of Holiness. Help me to seek Your presence and align my life with Your will. Transform me by Your grace and lead me in the path of righteousness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 5: Embracing God’s Salvation

Devotional God’s arrival in our lives is not just to teach or lead but to save us. Jesus came into the world fully God and fully man, living a perfect life and defeating the power of sin and death through His resurrection. This salvation is a gift that brings us into a restored relationship with God. As we embrace this gift, we are invited to join Jesus in His story, experiencing the fullness of life He offers. Let us remember that God’s love is personal and active, bringing salvation and hope to our lives. Embrace His salvation and live in the joy and freedom it brings.

Bible Verse And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. – Isaiah 35:8

Reflection Question How can you embrace God’s salvation more fully in your daily life and share this gift with others?

Quote God is not millions of miles away and uninvolved. He’s going to demonstrate his love for us by coming into the world fully God, fully man. Jesus arrives on the scene and it’s a big deal. And he came to save us.

Prayer Lord, thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus. Help me to embrace this gift fully and live in the joy and freedom it brings. Use me to share Your love and salvation with others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
