Kingdom Coming Part 7 Devotionals

Day 1: The Transformative Power of Hope

Devotional Hope is not just a fleeting feeling; it is a powerful force that can transform our lives. When we anchor our hope in God’s promises, it changes our perspective and helps us endure hardships. Isaiah’s prophecies, delivered during Israel’s exile, spoke of a future Messiah who would bring restoration. This message of hope is especially relevant during the Advent season, as it extends to us today while we await Christ’s return. We, too, live in a form of exile, separated from the perfect existence we were created for. However, the hope we have in Christ’s return and the ultimate restoration of all things gives us the strength to persevere.

Bible Verse Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. – Psalm 119:105

Reflection Question How can you anchor your hope in God’s promises today, especially during challenging times?

Quote Hope is transformative, changing our perspective and helping us endure hardships.

Prayer Lord, help me to anchor my hope in Your eternal promises. Transform my perspective and give me the strength to endure hardships, knowing that Your restoration is coming. Amen.

Day 2: Hope in the Heaven and Earth Connection

Devotional Isaiah 2:1-5 symbolizes hope with the mountain of the Lord, representing the ultimate heaven and earth connection. This connection is where enmity dies, and love wins. As we walk in the light of the Lord, we learn to be fully human, reflecting God’s light to the world. This hope is not just for the future but for our daily lives. It encourages us to live out our faith, sharing hope with others through acts of kindness and encouragement.

Bible Verse The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. – Revelation 21:23

Reflection Question In what ways can you reflect God’s light to the world today?

Quote Hope is pictured here because at the mountain, in that connection with God, in the heaven and earth connection, that’s where enmity dies.

Prayer Heavenly Father, help me to walk in Your light and reflect it to those around me. Let my actions be a beacon of hope and love in a world that desperately needs it. Amen.

Day 3: The Power of Hope in Restoration

Devotional Hope is powerful. It really changes things. Isaiah’s prophecies spoke of a future where everything is restored and renewed. This hope is not just a distant dream but a promise we can hold onto. It reminds us that no matter how broken our world may seem, God’s plan is to restore all things. This hope gives us the courage to face each day, knowing that God’s restoration is coming.

Bible Verse The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. – John 1:5

Reflection Question How does the promise of God’s restoration give you courage to face your daily challenges?

Quote Hope is powerful. Hope really changes things.

Prayer Lord, thank You for the promise of restoration. Help me to hold onto this hope and let it give me the courage to face each day with faith and trust in Your plan. Amen.

Day 4: Living Out Hope Daily

Devotional Hope is significant for all of us. It is not just a concept but a way of life. As we anchor our hope in God’s eternal promises, we are called to live out this hope daily. This means sharing it with others through acts of kindness and encouragement. By doing so, we become vessels of God’s hope, bringing light to a world that often feels dark and hopeless.

Bible Verse Because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace. – Luke 1:78-79

Reflection Question How can you be a vessel of God’s hope to someone in need today?

Quote Hope is significant for all of us.

Prayer Father, help me to live out Your hope daily. Let my actions and words be a source of encouragement and kindness to those around me. Use me to bring Your light to those who are in darkness. Amen.

Day 5: The Ultimate Hope in Christ’s Return

Devotional Hope is that at some point in time Jesus is coming again. This ultimate hope is what sustains us as we navigate the challenges of life. We are reminded that our current struggles are temporary and that a day is coming when everything will be restored and renewed. This hope is not just for the future but impacts how we live today. It encourages us to persevere, to love, and to share this hope with others.

Bible Verse They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. – Revelation 22:4-5

Reflection Question How does the hope of Christ’s return influence the way you live your life today?

Quote Hope is that at some point in time Jesus is coming again.

Prayer Lord Jesus, thank You for the promise of Your return. Help me to live each day in the light of this hope, persevering through challenges and sharing Your love with others. Amen.
