Kingdom Wisdom Part 3 Devotionals
Kingdom wisdom is lived through dependence on the Father. In Matthew 7:7–8, Jesus invites us to ask, seek, knock, and repeat—not because prayer controls outcomes, but because God welcomes us into an ongoing relationship of trust.
Day 1: Begin by Asking
Devotional
Jesus begins with a simple invitation: ask. When you do not know what to do, what to say, or how to move forward, you do not have to figure everything out alone. Asking God is not an admission of failure. It is the posture of someone who knows they have a Father who loves them, cares for them, and welcomes them into relationship.
Prayer does not need to become complicated. Bring your need honestly to God. Ask Him for wisdom, strength, direction, and understanding.

Matthew 7:7 — “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Reflection Question
What situation have you been trying to solve on your own that you need to bring honestly to the Father?

“Don’t know what to do? Ask. Don’t know what to say? Ask.”
Prayer
Father, I need You. I bring You the things I do not understand and the decisions I do not know how to make. Give me wisdom, strength, and direction today. Help me trust that You welcome me when I come to You. Amen.
Day 2: Receive Daily Bread
Devotional
Jesus teaches His followers to pray, “Give us today our daily bread.” This is a picture of daily dependence. We may want enough control, wisdom, resources, and strength that we no longer need help from anyone. But Kingdom life is not self-sufficiency. It is learning to return to the Father again and again.
The goal of following Jesus is not to become so capable that you no longer need God. As we grow, we increasingly recognize that life is found in dependence on Him. Rather than saying, “I have to figure this out,” we learn to say, “Father, I need You.”

Reflection Question
Where are you most tempted to rely on your own strength instead of receiving what you need from God today?

“Kingdom life, it’s really a life of dependence, being dependent on the Lord.”
Prayer
Father, give me what I need for today. Forgive me for the ways I have tried to live independently from You. Teach me to receive wisdom rather than manufacture it, strength rather than pretend I have enough, and life rather than trying to create it for myself. Amen.
Day 3: Seek What God Is Doing
Devotional
Seeking involves movement, attention, and participation. After we ask God for wisdom, we do not simply sit still waiting for an answer to fall from the sky. We continue walking faithfully, looking to Scripture, listening for wisdom, and noticing what is happening around us.
When we seek, our attention changes. Like looking for lost keys or a misplaced phone, we begin to notice places we may have overlooked. We may notice a person who needs love, an opportunity to serve, a word from Scripture, or a place where God is already at work. Kingdom wisdom asks not only, “How do I get what I want?” but also, “Father, what are You doing, and how can I participate?”

Matthew 6:33 — “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Reflection Question
What might God be inviting you to notice today—through Scripture, a person, a circumstance, or an opportunity to love?

“You need to turn your attention towards what’s going on.”
Prayer
Father, help me seek Your Kingdom today. Open my eyes to see where You are working around me. Lead me through Your Word, give me wisdom, and show me how I can participate in what You are doing. Amen.
Day 4: Keep Knocking While You Wait
Devotional
Knocking teaches persistence. A door does not always open immediately, and an unanswered prayer does not mean God does not care. Sometimes there is waiting involved. In those moments, Jesus invites us to keep knocking rather than giving up.
Persistent prayer is not an attempt to wear God down or convince Him to help us. It is a continued expression of trust in a good Father. The waiting itself can become a place where trust grows. While you wait, keep praying, keep walking, and do the next right thing you know to do.

Is there an area of waiting where you are tempted to conclude that God does not care? What would it look like to keep trusting Him today?

Prayer
Father, help me keep knocking when answers do not come quickly. Guard my heart from discouragement and teach me to trust Your goodness while I wait. Show me the next right thing to do, and help me remain faithful to You. Amen.
Day 5: Ask, Seek, Knock, Repeat
Devotional
Jesus’ invitation is continuous: keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking. Prayer is not a vending-machine transaction where we make a request and expect an immediate result. It is the ongoing life of a child returning to a loving Father.
You can bring God your needs, questions, fears, desires, relationships, work decisions, ministry concerns, and uncertainty about the future. He may answer yes, no, or ask you to wait. But you can trust the One on the other side of the door. He is your Father, and He invites you to keep coming.
